Role Description

This is a 3-months internship role for an on-site role for a Community Engagement Associate located in Bengaluru. . The Community Engagement Associate will be responsible for managing and supporting community initiatives, communicating with stakeholders, coordinating events, and providing case management services. It is an opportunity to make a significant impact and contribute to meaningful causes in India.

  • Building a community for the brand - identify opportunities for engagement and visibility
  • Develop relationship with past campaign organizers/ patient advocates and create network for the brand
  • PoC for all volunteering outreach and efforts
  • Assessing feasibility and outcomes of partnerships 
  • Planning events end to end, including collaborate with the social media team to promote event activities effectively
  • Help curate relevant content and engage with the online community to maximize outreach.
  • Manage agencies and vendors to ensure desired outcomes are achieved

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Previous experience in community outreach, event planning, or volunteer coordination preferred
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Passion for social causes and making a positive impact
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Social Work, Community Development, or related field

Responsibilities and requirements

  • Professional experience as a Cinematographer, with a strong portfolio demonstrating proficiency in various camera techniques and styles.
  • Proficiency in operating different types of cameras, lenses, and other cinematography equipment.
  • Excellent understanding of lighting techniques and composition principles.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with the director, video editor and production team.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues related to cameras and other equipment.
  • Familiarity with post-production processes and software, such as color grading and visual effects.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work within budget constraints.
  • Must have their own camera and gimbal equipment.
  • Knowledge of current industry trends and technology in cinematography.
  • Flexibility to work on location and travel as required.

Job Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Should have their own Camera and audio equipment
  • Should pay attention to details.
  • Should have a tripod and gimbal (if possible)
  • Should have good knowledge of shots, and would be required to take on the responsibility to attempt new shots.
  • Experience with social documentaries and crowdfunding videos would be an added advantage.

As the head of product you will lead the product team and build customer-first product, designing great user experiences and building scalable platforms. You'll play a crucial role in shaping our strategy, driving the execution of the product roadmap, and ensuring the product aligns with goal of the company. 

Your role will involve -

  • Design and oversee product vision, strategy, and roadmap to align with company goals.
  • Collaborating with various executive teams, including designers, developers, sales, marketing and operations to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to innovate and optimize the product.
  • Implement strategies to enhance internal efficiencies across teams.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join as an Assistant Manager to manage our funder relationships, partner tools and impact assessment mechanisms for our microfinance division.

Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with our institutional partners (domestic and foreign), High Networth Individuals and everyday lenders while actively seeking out new partnerships to expand business portfolios.
  • Conduct regular field visits across India to assess operational integrity and alignment with our SOPs.
  • Collaborate closely with the tech team to ensure seamless experience for our partners using our loan management system.
  • Coordinate administrative tasks such as loan publication, repayment reminders, and progress updates, aligning efforts with customer service and tech teams.
  • Oversee loan assignment, follow-up, and review processes, providing constructive feedback to volunteers, fellows and others involved.
  • Work closely with Finance leadership to plan and execute monthly, quarterly, and annual disbursements
  • Prepare social impact reports of our programs for leadership and external stakeholders as required.

Requirements:

  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a external/client facing role in relationship banking, consulting, business development.
  • Demonstrated interest to work in financial inclusion, social impact space.
  • Past experience and understanding of Salesforce application
  • Strong analytical abilities, business acumen, and partnership-building skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Self-motivated with clarity on future career path and how this role would help towards that.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.

Over the last 13 years, Milaap (https://milaap.org/) has established itself as India’s most trusted crowdfunding platform. We have now  been doing beyond crowdfunding through various volunteering and community engagement activities. Blood donation drive, hair donation drive, medical clowning, patient puppetry, handmade baby blankets for NICU babies, caretaker experience/knowledge sharing events, science fair for pediatric children in hospitals are a few engagement activities we regularly conduct across major tier 1 and 2 cities. 

As a Milaap Volunteering Program Advocate, your role would require coordinating with various stakeholders in the city to coordinate, communicate and organize various volunteering activities. An individual passionate about the volunteering and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) sectors would be the ideal candidate for the role. 

Job Locations: Coimbatore, Chennai and Hyderabad

No. of openings: 3 (one role in each of the above locations) 

Job Type: Part-time (20 hours per week) 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Organize one-time volunteering in colleges or schools 

Approach various schools or colleges on one-time volunteering activities (such as Hair Donation Drive, Baby Blanket Making, Milaap Wellness Kit, Reading Sessions for Children and others) and with us on a structured repeat volunteering like once in 2 months etc. 

  • Organize Caretaker Meetups 

- Milaap will provide information on various success beneficiaries/COs and the apprentice should reach out to palliative care centers or NGOs into the space to organize meetups and wellbeing sessions. 

- Self-care/burnout prevention and Stress Management: Focus on techniques, strategies, and resources for caregivers to prioritize their own well-being and manage stress effectively. 

- Caregiving for Specific Conditions: Organize events focused on caregiving for specific medical conditions or diseases, addressing their unique challenges and providing condition-specific resources. 

- Assistive Devices and Adaptive Equipment: Showcase and provide information about assistive devices, adaptive equipment, and technologies that can aid caregivers in providing care

  • Organize Community Engagement Activities 

Focus specifically on community engagement targeting children - like conducting science fairs, magic shows, 

  • Engage in research and documentation  

Help with on-ground validation of patient care centers in the city and their uniqueness. 

Job Skills: 

  • Passionate about making an on-ground social impact 
  • Ability to communicate efficiently and build relationships
  • Ready to interact with top management of various organizations 
  • Ability to inspire and motivate other volunteers 
  • Highly skilled in speaking the local language
