1. A 5-Month-Old’s Fight For Life

Harisha’s 5-month-old's tiny body was battling a giant challenge. She was suffering from jaundice and a swollen stomach, which were signs of a life-threatening liver condition. Having lost two daughters previously, Harisha and her husband, Madhusudhana Rao, were plunged into despair. But amidst the crushing grief, a flicker of hope remained - surgery. They poured their hearts and life savings into the operation, desperate to give their child a fighting chance.

However, the initial surgery wasn't enough. Her condition worsened, leaving her parents feeling utterly helpless. It was at this critical juncture that Milaap stepped in. A crowdfunding campaign was launched, reaching out to a vast network of potential donors. The story of the precious 5-month-old’s fight resonated with people across India. Donations, big and small, started pouring in, a reflection of the collective spirit of humanity.

Thanks to the generosity of the Milaap community, 1386 supporters came forward to raise critical funds of more than INR 19 lakh for her treatment. Today, Harisha and Madhusudhana's daughter is a healthy, thriving little girl. Her laughter is a constant reminder of the power of collective action. Every giggle, every gurgle, is a victory not just for the small child and her parents, but for everyone who contributed to her fight for life.

2. Jaweria Gets Back on Her Feet

Jaweria, once a vibrant teenager full of life, was confined to her bed by a cruel twist of fate. A tumour, aggressive and unforgiving, had taken away her mobility. The initial surgery to remove the tumour failed, leaving Jaweria in excruciating pain and her family drowning in medical bills. Her dream of walking again seemed to fade with each passing day.

Desperate for a solution, Jaweria's family turned to Milaap. They set up a fundraiser, sharing Jaweria's story and her need for a complex, life-changing surgery. The Milaap community responded with overwhelming support. Donations flooded in from more than 400 supporters, reaching the target amount of around Rs 8 Lakhs and offering Jaweria a lifeline.

The successful surgery not only removed the tumour but also offered Jaweria the chance to walk again. The long road to recovery is paved with physiotherapy sessions and determination, but with each step, Jaweria regains a piece of her life. The support she received through Milaap is a constant source of strength, a reminder that even in the darkest times, kindness can light the way.

Determined to build a secure future for herself and her son, Swati took on a job. But the weight of the financial burden was still too big and crushing her spirit. It was then that a friend suggested Milaap. A crowdfunding campaign was launched, reaching out to a network of potential supporters.

4. Devansh's Double Triumph

A horrific train accident changed Devansh's life in an instant. The young boy, once full of boundless energy, lost three of his limbs in the tragedy. The world seemed to shrink around him, his future covered in uncertainty. But Devansh, with relentless support from his parents, Vinit and Priyanka, refused to give up.

The initial surgery provided Devansh with a prosthetic leg, a step towards regaining his mobility. However, the doctors advised waiting until he turned 18 for an arm transplant. It was an important procedure that offered the hope of a more normal life. The wait was agonizing, filled with physiotherapy sessions and a longing for independence.

Determined to make Devansh's dream a reality, his family turned to Milaap. A crowdfunding campaign was launched, outlining the long road to recovery and the astronomical costs involved. The story resonated with people across India, igniting a wave of generosity. Over 4700 donors came together, contributing a staggering INR 90 Lakhs.

This incredible support not only covered Devansh's arm transplant surgery but also supported him through years of medication, physiotherapy, and prosthetics. 6. From Limitations To A Lifesaver for Animals

Milaap empowers not just individuals in need, but also those who dedicate their lives to helping others. The story of the Aastha Loving Kindness and Compassion (ALKC) Foundation, founded by Sweta Maurya, is a testament to this.

Despite battling Osteogenesis Imperfecta, a condition that limited her mobility, Sweta found her calling in animal welfare. Witnessing the plight of an abused dog online, she leveraged social media to connect with rescue groups and tirelessly advocated for animals in need.

Through sheer determination, Sweta established ALKC Foundation in 2016. However, limited resources hampered their ability to help more animals. This is where Milaap stepped in.

Thanks to the generosity of over 4,486 supporters on Milaap, ALKC Foundation raised a staggering INR 5,131,829 (over $66,000). This funding has been instrumental in rescuing and caring for over 400 animals and finding loving homes for countless rescued animals.

Sweta's vision is wider than just animals though. She dreams of extending her reach to help orphans, abandoned elderly, and the homeless. Additionally, she aspires to create online employment opportunities for others battling Osteogenesis Imperfecta.

7. A Beacon of Hope for Abandoned Elderly in India

Nestled in the Ambodi village of Saswad, Pune district, India, lies Maya Care Centre, a haven for abandoned and neglected elderly citizens. Founded by Dr. Sanjivkumar Kashinath Bhate and his wife Vaishnavi Bhate, Maya Care Centre has become a beacon of hope, transforming countless lives with compassion and care.

Their journey began with a simple yet powerful mission: to provide shelter and care for the elderly who have no one else to turn to. Starting from a single room, their dedication has blossomed into a facility housing 60 residents. From providing timely meals and clean beds to celebrating birthdays and organizing annual picnics, they strive to ensure the residents feel loved and supported.

One resident's story exemplifies the impact of Maya Care Centre. An 80-year-old woman, abandoned by her relatives, arrived at the centre in a state of despair. Initially distrustful and fearful, she gradually found solace and recovery under the couple's consistent loving care. This heartwarming story highlights Maya Care Centre's commitment to not just meeting basic needs but also providing emotional support and a sense of belonging.

However, Maya Care Centre's journey is not without challenges. Located in a remote area, attracting paid staff is difficult. Limited funds make maintaining the facility and buying essential supplies a constant struggle. Despite these hurdles, Dr. Sanjiv and Vaishnavi remain undeterred. Their dream is to build a permanent home with ample space to accommodate more elderly individuals, offering them a safe and secure environment for their golden years. To get closer to his dream they launched a campaign on Milaap and told the heartfelt story of people residing in the centre. The story was heard and felt by thousands of people who decided to come forward and donate for the cause.

Maya Care Centre's success story is a testament to the power of compassion and the impact Milaap's platform can have. Through the crowdfunding campaign, Maya Care Centre successfully raised more than INR 10 lakhs. This incredible feat, achieved with the support of 7,974 generous donors, demonstrates the collective power of individuals to make a real difference
